Darian Woods announced he will be leaving 'The Indicator from Planet Money' for the remainder of the year to focus on writing a book. The book, which will explore the 'explore exploit dilemma' in decision-making, is tentatively slated for a 2028 release. Woods is expected to return to the podcast at the beginning of 2027, with Ricky Monti stepping in as a temporary co-host.
“Yeah, I'm going to write a book. So I'm actually going to be leaving the indicator for the rest of the year. This book is about decision making and specifically the explore exploit dilemma.”
“But until I return at the start of the new year, 2027, I'm very happy to leave the show in the expert hands of our co-host, Ricky Monti.”
