Carson Block observed that retail investors, particularly those invested in stocks like Sofi, have become "rabid" and that some have issued death threats against critics. He feels that management going after critics is now seen as sport by many retail longs.
“And I noticed this, I mean, acutely, um, we shorted Sofi a few months ago.”
“And that's a stock where the management has really focused on cultivating a retail base, mean almost to the exclusion of institutional or even sell side.”
“And I mean, those guys are rabid, man.”
“Like there were some like pretty nasty death threats out there and and like nobody even, you know, on Twitter and nobody even said, you know, hey, that's too far.”
“So, as far as how most longs, especially retail longs feel about, you know, managements going after their critics these days, I think it's just sport.”
