The United States is set to expand its natural gas pipeline infrastructure to meet growing demand from Europe, Asia, and domestic data centers. Jamestown Klain of Natural Gas Intelligence highlights the crucial role of pipelines in supporting natural gas production growth. Matthew Petic of S&P Global Energy notes that while data centers are often near production sites, exported natural gas requires longer pipeline routes.
“The pipeline buildout was pretty crucial to natural gas production growth as, you know, plays expanded across the country over the last decade or two.”
“And right now, there's kind of a renaissance of sorts because of these data centers because of these LNG terminals that are coming online.”
“That means more connective tissue. They're pipelines.”
