Discussion of the Federal Reserve's minutes revealed that some members of the committee had considered raising interest rates prior to the decision to hold. Host Kai Ryssdal noted that the minutes indicated a less hawkish stance than initially perceived.
“Very interesting to me that there were some people on that committee who said, yeah, you know what? Maybe we ought to raise rates now.”
“So someone really famously I know named Kai Ryssdal tweeted after the after the Fed decision on June 17th. Hey wait a minute. This hold was unanimous.”
“I don't think the minutes were that hawkish either.”
