Host Amanda McCowan discusses the old computer game 'Titanic: Adventure Out of Time,' which she discovered is available on Steam. The game, from around 1996, features a plot where the player must find a jewel-encrusted book called the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, which is a real artifact that sank with the Titanic.
“So I started poking around looking for this game that I was obsessed with when I was a kid. It's called Titanic Adventure out of time. I think it's from like 1996.”
“For this mission, you were supposed to track down a very special artifact that was hidden somewhere on board, which is a book covered in jewels called the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.”
“But I will tell you something else that I did not know back then, which is that the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam is a real book. There really was this fabulous jewel-encrusted edition of the Rubaiyat that went down with the ship.”
