A cautionary tale is shared about an incident at the Hornby Island ferry queue where a driver, apparently unaware of the parking arrangements, caused a multi-car collision. The speaker stresses the importance of caution when navigating the bend while queuing for the ferry.
“So on this side of the road that you're going towards, you have to park on the right hand side as much as you can. I don't think this person knew this. So he came speeding around a corner. He probably didn't realize that cars will park on the right hand side of the ferry. He realized too late. He slammed on the brakes. But it's way too late and he bashed into the car in front of him, who then bashed into the car in front of them.”
“We turned around and an almighty sound of crushed metal and the woman screaming, oh my god, that's my car. She was the car in the middle. Luckily she was out of the car and her car was an absolute right off.”
“So just be careful going around that bend when you queue up for Hornby Island.”
