Nvidia has introduced the Open Agent Safety Platform, a reference design aimed at preventing AI agents from escaping containment. The platform, which includes components like OpenShell for CPUs and Sentry for GPUs, is designed to act as a 'browser for agents,' granting them only necessary access. Nvidia believes this could have prevented past incidents, such as the OpenAI Hugging Face breach.
“You can't have agents roam around and drift around the company, and so you have to find a way to contain it.”
“Each security incident is unique, and we have to look at all of them in detail.”
“We can't have a successful AI industry if the world doesn't think it's built or confident that it's built and deployed safely.”
