While AI tools are democratizing game creation, Shuhei Yoshida expressed concern that this accessibility could make it challenging for professional game developers to earn a living. He cited examples of friends who can now create games independently using AI coding tools.
“You know, I have a couple of friends who are really good at designing and, uh, creating art. They tell me they can now make games by themselves by using AI coding.”
“So that's a really great news for gamers, you know, who can see, you know, more different types of games being created. But, uh, it could be a challenging time for all the game creators who want to, uh, make a living by making games.”
