Frank Hutter shares his extensive background in automated machine learning (AutoML), having started a workshop series, transitioned it to a conference, co-authored the first book on AutoML, and developed the first MOOC. He has also worked on deep learning optimization, including AdamW and Co-sign, before focusing on deep learning for tabular data.
“I focused a lot on Auto ML, automated machine learning, where, um, yeah, started the, um, workshop series on Auto ML, ran that for 8 years. We transitioned that to a conference on Auto ML, um, co-wrote the first book on Auto ML, did the first MOOC on Auto ML.”
“But then also moved over to deep learning, um, worked a lot on optimization of deep learning, some Adam W and co-sign. And co-sign, um, is from, uh, Igor Ostrolubov and myself.”
