Jennifer Gruenke describes visiting Îlot Saint-Michel, a tidal island in Brittany that can be accessed by foot when the tide is out, similar to Mont Saint-Michel. The island features a chapel and striking natural colors from red rocks, yellow lichen, and blue mussels.
“It's a tidal island like Mont Saint-Michel. It's also named after Saint Michel. It's called Îlot Saint-Michel, which is like islet or a mini island.”
“The rocks are red, and they have this bright yellow lichen growing on them, and then also bright green, I guess it's algae or seaweed or something. And then there are mussels growing on these rocks that are blue.”
“They will open the chapel at certain times when the tide is low, and… I think I forgot to send you the picture of the time… well, I guess it was going to be different every year.”
