Campgrounds along Brittany's GR34 trail range from basic to resort-like, with star ratings indicating amenities such as swimming pools, playgrounds, and security gates. Jennifer Gruenke notes that lower-starred campgrounds can be particularly beneficial for through-hikers, offering common spaces for charging devices and storing food.
“The higher starred levels tend to be good for families with kids who are, you know, old enough that they don't have to be, like, watched every second, but you can, like, let them run freely around this campground, and there's all sorts of things for them to do.”
“I found that the lower starred ones were actually better for hikers like me because they tended to have a common space for hikers to, you know, they would have a common refrigerator where you could put your stuff.”
“I pay between 8 and 20 euros per night at these campgrounds, which is a pretty budget vacation.”
