Michael Pento stated that the bottom 80% of consumers have been significantly impacted by persistent inflation for over five years. This situation has been exacerbated by recent geopolitical events, leading to increased oil prices and commodity costs.
“So, um, first of all, I think you should understand, you and your audience understand that the bottom five quintiles of consumers have been battered with about five years plus of incessant inflation.”
“Um, and that has gotten much worse recently with the escalation in the war, you know, Brent back up to $100 a barrel, WTI the same.”
“Of course, you, uh, you add to that the commodities, the fertilizer, um, and now spiking interest rates.”
