The Prime Minister of Moldova views Romania as a crucial advocate for Moldova's path towards EU integration, seeing it as a model for economic growth. He highlights the economic opportunities for Moldova and investors stemming from EU convergence and a growth plan equivalent to 10% of GDP.
“Romania has been a great friend. We share more than a common history and language and identity. So we also share, we look up to Romania as the kind of path we want to follow. So if you look at the growth of Romania over the last years before joining the EU, it was one of the most fascinating growth stories in the world, comparable to the Asian targets or other, say, fascinating growth stories. And that's why this EU integration path, and we became a candidate country in 2022, creates gigantic economic opportunities for us, but also for the investors that are going to come to Moldova. And Romania is our primary advocate and primary ambassador on that path.”
