The Prime Minister of Moldova emphasizes the need for a 'just peace' in Ukraine, cautioning against the temptation to achieve peace at any cost. He believes that tolerating aggression sets dangerous precedents that will disrupt future stability and disrupt things going forward.
“In my case, this is even more personal. Before taking the prime minister job, I actually lived for 15 years in Kiev, Ukraine. So I was there when the war started. I continued working there, running one of the larger private equity funds in the region. And indeed, all I can say is that we count on a just peace for Ukraine. I understand the temptation to get it done at any cost, but we have to understand that setting such precedents where the where the aggressor is tolerated, will disrupt things going forward. So it's very important to get not only a peace, but a just peace.”
