Moldova's Prime Minister states that Russia is conducting a 'hybrid war' against the country, primarily by attempting to interfere in elections. He expresses pride in Moldova's successful resistance to these threats and positions Moldova as a lab for counteracting Russian interventions.
“Russia has been waging a what we call a hybrid war against Moldova, primarily by trying to interfere in our elections. And I'm very proud that we managed to withstand that threat. Actually, Democratic forces... You weren't Mr. Putin's candidate?”
“I'm anything but Mr. Putin's candidate. If anything, I'm probably one of the biggest Mr. Putin's enemies in the region. And I think Moldova is a sort of a good example of a lab where we managed to counteract Russian interventions. And I think even Western democracies, larger democracies have something to learn from Moldova in terms of how we did it.”
