Ted Oakley expresses skepticism about the projected profitability of AI-related companies over the next two to three years, suggesting the probability of these projections not materializing is high. He warns that many of these companies are heavily leveraged with debt, posing a significant risk if their promises fall short.
“However, if you look, if you deep dive, and I'm not an expert on this, I just try to look at the numbers, you try to do a deep dive on the profitability of what they're suggesting over the next two or three years. Two ones, at least the probability does not look anywhere near like what you're hearing.”
“Uh, in other words, the possibility of that not working out is for us is fairly high.”
“And here you have companies, number one, that have a lot of debt and they're promising a lot of profit, uh, leveraged up. And so, if for some reason that doesn't work out, you know, uh, that, that wouldn't be the greatest outcome in the world.”
