Procida is described as a small, picturesque island known for its colorful, pastel-painted houses and a distinct fishing village feel, particularly in areas like Corricella. Unlike the sandy beaches of Ischia, Procida offers a more walkable experience, with options for biking and exploring its charming streets. The island's history includes a former prison and volcanic origins.
“I find Procida, again, it's another feel altogether. And I don't know if it's a great time to transition to Procida because Procida for me, like when I arrived there, I was like, wow, what do you visit there for? The first thing, the first thing I saw, the most beautiful, colorful, pastel place. Houses it's so picturesque i couldn't believe it it's just so beautiful like stunningly beautiful So that's what it's known for. It's colourful, pastel-painted houses.”
“And it's very much like a fisherman feel. Like it's very, it's like a village feel. To me, it's like the Prosciutto reminds me of Marina Piccola, particularly because, again, like going back to like how the islands are broken up. So in Capri, we've got Anacapri and Capri. And then, you know, like I said, we've got Ischia. We've got six different communes. Prosciutto, again, has their three or four little areas that are distinct. On the island.”
“The island was awarded the Italian Capital of Culture in 2022. Albeit being very small, there's a lot of reasons to go there. Aside from the beauty of the pastel painted beautiful houses, we did a boat trip around the island. That was amazing because this island, they say, was actually formed by an eruption of four different volcanoes.”
