Greg detailed his first destination in the Wild Card Challenge, aiming for business class flights and boutique hotels. His journey to Panama involved a delayed Avianca business class flight from DC to Panama via San Salvador, where he was provided a lounge room to sleep. He checked into the Hotel Plaza Herrera in Casco Viejo and explored Panama City.
“On Tuesday, I, um, went to, I flew from the Detroit airport, um, and, uh, had lunch in the in the Lufthansa lounge there. And then flew to DC where, um, I had dinner in the Chase Sapphire lounge, which is disguised as an Emirates lounge. And it's fantastic. Um, then I boarded Avianca business class to fly to Panama, but via San Salvador.”
“So I did have that one stop, which turned out to be a big problem because that flight to San Salvador was very much delayed. And, um, so I would miss the connection.”
“And in San Salvador, they gave me a, um, a lounge room to stay in. So I was able to get a few hours sleep before the flight I was reconnect. I was reconnected on Avianca business class flight to Panama the next morning at 4:50 in the morning.”
“And, um, there I, um, I checked in to an incredible hotel. The Hotel Plaza Herrera in Casco Viejo, which is Panama City's old town.”
