Alex Morse shares his atypical background for a politician, having spent his career in tech, including roles at Palantir and startups. He was the first in his party elected with a computer science degree and has passed numerous bills, with five related to AI and technology, including the influential Raise Act.
“My background is pretty atypical for someone in, uh, in politics. I spent my whole career in tech, mostly government tech. I was at Palantir for four and a half years, and then a couple of startups after that.”
“And when my seat in the State Assembly opened up, I ran for it, mostly as an experiment to see if that was a way of making change.”
“But, uh, one of those in particular, the Raise Act, really got the ire of the industry, and I think that sets everything else in motion.”
