Younger generations, particularly millennials and Gen Z, are increasingly opting for prenuptial agreements. This trend is partly attributed to their exposure to parents' difficult divorces, which has led them to seek more proactive financial planning in their own marriages. Additionally, individuals in these generations are often marrying later with established careers or student debt, making prenups a tool to manage these financial complexities.
“One, it's the people who are younger and getting these are kind of millennial, Gen Z, who a lot of them have gone through situations where their parents got divorced and saw the other end of it.”
“They saw what happened, and they didn't want that to happen to them.”
“And in another way, people are getting married a little bit later in life, and they might come into their marriage with either already having established careers or businesses or even student loans.”
