Anthropic reported that AI is now leading 26% of their R&D work and collaborating on over 90%, a substantial increase from 1% in March before the 'Mithos' training run. This automation in research has ramped up significantly, reaching 12% in May and doubling since then.
“By Anthropic's measure, Claude now quote-unquote leads 26% of their R&D work and quote-unquote collaborates on more than 90%.”
“In March, prior to Mithos, only 1% of Anthropic's R&D was led by AI. Mithos boosted this to 12% in May and it has doubled since then.”
“Still, they noted that research automation has massively increased since Mithos finished its training run and has continued to ramp in recent months.”
