With the Clarity bill's failure in the Senate, the path forward for crypto regulation in the US appears to be through regulatory agencies rather than legislative action. The SEC and CFTC have already indicated their intention to implement frameworks similar to those discussed during the bill's negotiations. This shift suggests a future where regulatory agencies will play a more dominant role in shaping the industry's legal landscape.
“Seems like now the story for regulation from crypto is that it's gonna have to come from the agencies. It's gonna have to be through rule making. The SEC and the CFTC have already signaled. We're just gonna go ahead and basically implement Clarity. And all of the frameworks that have been negotiated over, that's kind of set the blueprint for what a regulatory agency led solution is going to look like.”
“Doesn't mean we'll probably not going to get a law. So it's unfortunate.”
