Startup TypeSafe AI has launched Jeff, a new type of AI model designed for machine-to-machine interaction rather than natural language processing for humans. Funded with $40 million, Jeff uses reinforcement learning for calibrated decisions (RLCD) to produce typed probabilistic decisions that software can directly utilize, potentially streamlining workflows and avoiding parsing issues.
“TypeSafe AI has debuted Jeff, a model using reinforcement learning for calibrated decisions to produce typed probabilistic decisions that software can use directly.”
“Instead of returning natural language in response to a text-based prompt, TypeSafe AI designed Jeff to return typed probabilistic decisions for use by other software or AI models.”
“TypeSafe was founded to pursue an alternative path for AI research focused on machine native AI, said Almada in a statement.”
