John Gruber and John Moltz discuss changes to the base model Mac Mini. Apple removed the 256GB configuration, which previously started at $600, and the new base model now starts at $800 with 256GB of storage. They note this effectively acts as a price increase for the entry-level Mac Mini.
“I mean, it's not, it's not the long-term Mac base Mac Mini, but they had played, what was the deal? So they took away the 256 gig config.”
“They took away the 256 gig config. Yes, that went months ago up.”
“And that was the one that started at 600 bucks. So then it started at 800 bucks, and now it still starts at 800 bucks, but it's back to being a 256 gigabytes of storage.”
