Abby Barlow, CIO of a single-family office, discusses how she has used AI, specifically Claude, to function as her sole investment analyst since starting three years ago. She highlights Claude's 24/7 availability and ability to support her in various tasks, from preparing for fund manager meetings to analyzing complex legal documents.
“Part of the reason I have not hired is because I happened to start at the same time that AI was becoming a thing. And have leaned into it to support me and become my analyst.”
“When the final stages, I will take a red line. Got one recently, there were 185 tracked changes in this document. Which historically I would skim them. If anything seemed relevant, I would probably send it to counsel, we would pay them to review it. It would take a day or two or three. Now I can just take that, put it into Claude and in one minute, get back a summary of what's relevant.”
“It's better than what I could do on my own. We're saving a lot of time and money doing that. We ask better questions to the fund manager than we otherwise would.”
