Economist Dr. Art Laffer expressed a highly optimistic view of the US economy, stating it is performing "extraordinarily well" and has good future prospects. He highlighted favorable tax policies, including no taxes on tips and overtime, and permanent reductions in corporate and personal income tax rates as key strengths.
“I am very pleased with where the US is and where I anticipate it will be.”
“I think the US economy is doing extraordinarily well. Uh, you know, as a broad answer to a question. Uh, and I think the prospects are looking good too.”
“But from the standpoint of this economy, we've got, we've got it all there. And the BBB, the big beautiful bill. We've got the tax rates in position. Uh, we have, uh, no taxes on tips. No taxes on overtime. I mean, all of that stuff is well done. 100% expensing of capital purchases for the income tax. We have it permanently lowered. Corporate rate as well as personal income tax rate down to 37%. So, you know, this economy is poised. It's in great, great shape. Uh, as far as sort of macroeconomics is concerned.”
