US officials announced they have disrupted a hacking operation linked to China that targeted government networks, including NASA, the Federal Reserve, and the Department of Energy, as well as power companies and hospitals. The FBI identified the operation, active since 2018, as being run by a Chinese firm called Netease Network Technology. This firm reportedly sells access to compromised networks and stolen data to China's intelligence services.
