An Anthropic researcher has reportedly quit their position, citing concerns that colleagues building AI are aware of its potential to cause existential harm by the end of the decade but are continuing development recklessly. A current employee corroborated the concern, estimating a greater than 10% chance of this outcome, with no apparent plans to halt development.
