An AI researcher named Jacob Ksen at Intropic has abruptly resigned, expressing concerns that the company's work on superintelligence poses an existential threat to humanity. This warning gained significant attention when shared by Intropic's alignment lead on X, who stated, "we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans."
“Yeah, uh, researcher at Intropic, named Jacob Ksen, sort of abruptly resigned and warned that he thinks that everything is, you know, that what they're developing there is going to end humanity if something isn't done, you know, something that we have heard many times before in different ways and different forms and and I think we should probably talk a little bit about, you know, why this might be different and why it isn't different, but it's just one of those things that blew up in a way that I don't, I mean, other than like the Elizabeth Holmes documentary, I can't, I'm hard pressed to think of something that blew up so fast. This this I think even transcends that by a mile, uh, because in large part, not only did this warning shot come out from this researcher, this young researcher who has also worked at OpenAI, uh, but also was sort of immediately shared on X by the alignment lead at Intropic, who, you know, in what might go down as one of the misplaced, but best misplaced exclamations ever shared, you know, Ksen's post and thread and said, we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans exclamation mark, like just so what a weird vibe that I think that was just a ton of accelerant on, uh, an already fraught, you know, sort of post or series of posts.”
