Despite AI's growing capabilities, individuals using AI tools like Claude in more automated ways tend to report greater optimism regarding their job prospects, pay, and autonomy. Peter McCree suggested this optimism might stem from users recognizing AI's power while still perceiving the need for human expertise in directing complex tasks.
“People who use Claude in more automated ways report being more optimistic along each of those dimensions. And, you know, maybe this is because people who are using the tools, they sort of see how capable they are, but nevertheless, see the ways in which the frontiers are kind of jagged and there's still a role for human expertise in, um, complimenting and directing what Claude is able to do.”
