ETH Systems prioritizes tackling complex, unsolved privacy challenges for institutions rather than well-established use cases like private payments. Mo Jalil highlights their work on inter-dealer compressions for investment banks as an example of a novel, high-value problem they are addressing.
“So first of all, I think when it comes to the work that we do, we span a broad range of use cases. And our time is usually spent on the work that hasn't already been solved, to be perfectly honest.”
“So one is that, you know, we were definitely talking to a particular organization, let's just say, Tier 1 Investment Bank, where they do this thing known as inter-dealer compressions.”
“And we basically had someone that come to us and they were like, well, hold on a second. Is there any way that we could do this? And this is the perfect example where a kind of like, I would say, foundational new technology like Ethereum, a shared state, could give them this without this particular third party.”
