Brent Ewing of First Franklin Financial Services anticipates a decline in interest rates, forecasting a rate cut in the first half of 2017 and no rate hikes this year. He projects the S&P 500 to reach 8,200 by year-end 2026 and potentially 10,000 by year-end 2027.
“Our call is that interest rates kind of decline going into next year. We don't believe we're going to get a rate hike this year. We believe a rate cut is next in line, and we think that happens in the first half of 2017.”
“You know, our beginning of the year, we had put 8,000 target on the S & P. We recently just raised it here in August to 8,200. And looking forward into next year, it's not surprising if we could see close to 10,000 by year end of 27.”
