Richard Teng reported that Binance experienced a substantial surge in spot trading volume in August, climbing from $4.755 billion to $13.6 billion daily, an 188% increase. He also highlighted that users are increasing their allocation to crypto assets, with crypto's share of combined crypto and equity holdings rising from 64% to 72% by the end of August.
“And our spot trading volume for crypto rose from about 5 billion on the daily basis to about 14 billion, right?”
“So, uh, on Binance, average daily spot volume climbed from $4.755 billion to $13.6 billion, 188% increase.”
“It's a mix of everything. We have new users coming through, we've renewed interest, we have users that convert their stable coins that they're holding for your purposes into crypto again.”
“And in August, crypto shares of combined holdings rose from 64% to about 70%. So you can see increase crypto allocation in August as well. And by end of August, we reached about 72%.”
