He noted that this bipartisan bill, which has passed the House and is awaiting Senate action, would provide dedicated federal resources, prosecutors, and coordination centers to address ORC as a federal issue, recognizing its interstate nature.
“We are now working on COORCA. COORCA is the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. We are Home Depot. Retail in general has been a supporter. This is actually a very bipartisan act.”
“This is like literally the first organized retail crime act at the federal level that provides resources, prosecutors, coordination centers, defines changes to USC 182314 that says here's how you have dedicated federal resources to go after this.”
“So The short answer is absolutely, I think the tide is changing. It's not just one-sided. There's, I want to say, 100 to maybe 200-plus House sponsors, both from the Democrat and Republican side. There are many, many bipartisan sponsors in the Senate for Cawarca.”
