The speaker recounts suffering from a severe gum and ear infection during their time in Melbourne, which was so painful they had to visit A&E. They were prescribed Endone, a strong painkiller, which they used to manage the pain, although their doctor was surprised by the prescription due to its potency and street value.
“But the same time, what I do remember from that night is having the most horrendous gum infection. Now, at the time of my time in Melbourne, for the majority of it, I was hampered by this ear and gum infection. It was so bad one night in the hostel, I had to go to A and E and it was absolutely painful, like ridiculously painful. On the right hand side, both ear and teeth.”
“The hospital gave me some called Endone, which is like a really strong painkiller, almost like morphine. And when it got that bad, I used to take one of these because I couldn't deal with the pain. And that used to knock me out for the night. It was completely off the limit.”
