A traveler recounts how they managed to save between $12,000 and $14,000 AUD in approximately six to seven months while living in Melbourne. The speaker details how they secured a job paying $25-$30 AUD per hour, which was crucial for recovering travel expenses and funding further trips.
“I did manage to recover my budget from starting work to about the seven-month mark where I left. And that was absolutely crucial for me carrying on travelling for the rest of my visa in Australia. So from nought, and probably a bit of minus in there, I managed to get back up to 12 to 14,000 Australian dollars in six to seven months. Not bad going.”
“The job that I had did pay $30 Australian an hour. And it was a full-time contract job, ongoing.”
