Rochelle Gamlam noted the increasing availability of digital nomad visas worldwide, such as in Spain and Estonia, allowing individuals to live and work remotely from foreign countries. These visas are often beneficial for those working for themselves or with location-independent jobs.
“And so so many countries are seeing the benefit of that wealth infusion that they're making it quite easy for people like us to do this and live there. And now there's so many options. Yeah, and especially with all of these visas coming out, I keep dropping the word digital nomad visa. That's basically a visa for if you work online and make your money from outside the country. So that's the visa I'm on in Spain is I make usd from clients outside of Spain and then I can just live in Spain for a year.”
“I remember when the first digital nomad visa was announced in Estonia, I was already living abroad, So there's somewhat new. And it's because what we're doing is we're taking these four dollars and spending them locally in a way that spreads the wealth more so than tourists. Right, We're not just spending money in the tourist sector. We're renting from a local family. You know, I'm taking my daughter to local daycare, you know, going to restaurants outside the tourist areas.”
