Nisha Katona recounts facing prejudice as a child in the UK, being "firebombed and spat at in the street." She explains that this experience, stemming from her parents being Indian immigrants in the 1960s, shaped her desire to be liked and has kept her humble.
“And so my earliest memories were of being sort of firebombed and spat at in the street, you know, you're forged in this crucible of affliction. And you just want people to like you.”
“People are just afraid of what they don't know. And, you know, we were in brown corduroys and had more facial hair than most people and probably smelled of onions. So why would they like us?”
“And so you spent your whole life trying to get away from that.”
