So Money with Farnoosh Torabi · Friday, August 28, 2026
A New York Times article identified six common financial frustrations in the U.S., including issues with tipping, the persistence of paper checks, the cost and inconvenience of moving money, complex tax filing, high college costs and confusing student loans, and convoluted healthcare insurance systems. Farnoosh Torabi agreed with these points and added her own grievances.
“Well, a recent New York Times article by personal finance writers Ron Lieber and Tara Siegel Bernard called Six Things That Drive Us Crazy About Money in America goes as follows, okay?”
“The first is tipping everybody, everywhere.”
“Number two annoyance: paper checks.”
