Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called for transparency regarding the rejected U.S.-Canada trade agreement, demanding the release of the proposed text. He questioned why the Prime Minister decided to reject the deal and what specific terms were unacceptable.
“First, Canadians deserve to know what is the deal that the Prime Minister had first planned to accept, and then later decided to reject. Release the proposed text.”
“We are asking him to release the details of what was proposed in that agreement so that we can find out both what our government was fighting to achieve and what the Americans were demanding, and what it is that was unacceptable and required we walk away.”
