Kara Swisher announces the death of feminist icon Gloria Steinem at age 92. Swisher remembers Steinem as an "entrepreneur of social change" and a talented journalist, noting the close timing of her death with that of Dolly Parton.
“So we have a, speaking, um, um, men, let's not talk about them for a second. Um, I want to mention Gloria Steinem has died at, uh, age 92. She was a feminist and activist and a journalist and so much more.”
“Um, we talk a lot about business on the podcast and, uh, Gloria once described herself as an entrepreneur of social change. Um, she and that title many times over. Um, I've met her on several occasions, really interesting, sometimes controversial, some within the feminist movement. Uh, very good journalist. If you go back and read her, I remember loving her Playboy Bunny piece. It was, if you go back and read, it's actually quite good.”
“And it's kind of interesting that, you know, two people I consider some of the leading feminists, Dolly Parton and Gloria Steinem, uh, die within the same couple, you know, weeks or weeks or so.”
