A consortium of 21 financial institutions is reportedly planning to issue a dollar-backed stablecoin in 2027, aiming for a regulated and official entry into the crypto space. However, the effectiveness of such a consortium against established players is questioned.
“And then again, Besant, week three of the treasury of the trade. Put, what is he saying at the G20 summit as 30-year yields are approaching 20-year highs once again?”
“Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and others, a whole bunch of other banks, they plan to issue a dollar stablecoin, altogether a big banking consortium, in 2027. This out of Reuters. This is 21 financial institutions planning to do this.”
“I am team nothing burger. I think like consortia are just so, I don't know, they're so NGMI. I've yet to see any consortium of this nature really prove themselves to be a force against more focused singular companies that have muscular founders who are working on something.”
