A lawsuit named Briggs versus Mullin has been filed against DHS DNA collection practices, brought by U.S. citizens whose DNA was taken in Chicago during an operation. The plaintiffs, who were protesters, allege that the seizure of their DNA was unconstitutional.
“So there is the first challenge that we know of in court. A case called Briggs versus Mullin brought by a group of US citizens whose DNA was taken by DHS agents in Chicago during Operation Midway Blitz that, you know, Chicago in area invasion by, um, DHS, I think last year.”
“And that group of folks has sued, alleging that the taking of their DNA, um, they were protesters, exercising their first amendment rights, um, that the taking of their DNA was unconstitutional.”
