Chaiten Gupta observed that Japan has a broader cultural acceptance of robots for daily interactions, including for elderly support, compared to North America. He noted that while the US may be behind in this area, China is currently leading in industrial robotics applications.
“And I think, you know, you, you spot on, Chris, right? So there was, um, a broader acceptance, I would say, of, of robots, um, for day-to-day interaction, uh, in Japan compared to, say, North America. I think that is something cultural. I can't explain it why.”
“And so in that sense, um, so for use cases like elderly care, uh, I would say, yes, so the United States was sort of behind, uh, other sort of Asian countries, uh, not all the Asian countries, but like the leading countries, Japan, China, and so forth.”
“And then, um, so in for robots for the industrial world as well, the center of gravity is, um, in China today. You've seen sort of their robots do multiple things.”
