He experienced food poisoning an hour before a highly anticipated Rush concert in Toronto, which he had planned after his mother's death. His wife, Jo, also faced a severe allergic reaction to amoxicillin.
“So me and my brother, 72-hour trip to Toronto, the band's hometown, last night of a four-night residency at the Scotia Bank Arena was going to be absolutely incredible.”
“And, um, an hour and a half before the show, I started throwing my guts up with food poisoning.”
“So I mean, while that was kind of literally finding its way out, Joe had, uh, bit of ear pain, which was quite persistent, so she ended up seeing a doctor about that.”
“Well, seven days in, she had the most horrific violent reaction to this drug which, um, she swelled up like a balloon.”
