Retirement success is not solely dependent on the amount of money saved, but rather a holistic approach encompassing five key factors, according to retirement expert Wes Moss. He emphasizes that while financial security is important, community, socialization, health, and purpose are equally crucial for a fulfilling retirement.
“So, if there's five things that are the formula, and if we nail each one of these five, collectively, money is only one of the five. That's 20% of the whole battle. But if we nail all five, my research suggests that you have a 96% chance of ending up in what I would call the happy retiree camp or the happiest retirees on the block.”
“The second one is social. You know, we can't be happy if we're alone.”
“And the fifth component is purpose. And I think that, you know, for retirement, you and I can talk about this forever, but it's all about purpose.”
