Alex argues that Meta's ambitious goal of personal superintelligence, where AI understands user context, is a significantly more difficult problem than coding agents. He notes that many companies, including Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, have struggled with this broader concept of personal intelligence.
“I think that when we talk a little bit in the beginning of the year about whether this would be the year of agents, and the fact that, you know, a couple of months later, it seems like that's been delivered upon. A lot of that has been coding agents.”
“Uh, but it is, it is important to say that the level of agent development that Meta is taking on is much more ambitious, right? It's this personal superintelligence where the AI knows your context and is helpful to you.”
“And that to me seems like a much more difficult problem, much more open-ended problem to solve.”
