Anthropic has been accused of blindsiding business partners, including Figma, with the launch of new vertical applications that compete directly with their partners' offerings. Figma's founder stated that Anthropic was not fully transparent, and the company's stock has seen a significant decline.
“So, according to the information, Anthropic, uh, quote unquote blindsided is then business partner with the launch of Cloud Design. So this was a new vertical app that Anthropic launched to compete in the design category.”
“And Figma's founder said that Anthropic had not been completely honest with them. Anthropic's chief product officer had actually even served on Figma's board and didn't resign until three days before the launch of Cloud Design.”
