During his Everest climb, Rob Lea described a moment at Camp Two (25,000 feet) where he and his wife Caroline Glyk were "absolutely delusional" due to the altitude. They spent an extra day to avoid crowds, finding humor and camaraderie in their altered state.
“And I just remember sitting in the tent with Caroline, just absolutely delusional, like singing songs and, um, just the silliness of being at 25,000 feet and kind of not being all the way with it.”
“I mean, you're kind of like half drunk at that altitude. And just having the best time of my life, kind of peeking out of the tent every now and again, checking out what was going on, then going back to just being silly in the tent.”
