Adam Curry Credited with Pioneering Podcasting

Leo Laporte credited Adam Curry with being instrumental in the beginnings of podcasting. Curry is cited as the person who convinced Dave Winer to add a binary enclosure to RSS, enabling audio in feeds and thus the start of podcasting in 2004. Curry later partnered with John C. Dvorak in a podcasting company called MeVio.

He was the one who convinced Dave Winer, the creator of RSS, to add one little piece to RSS, which was a binary enclosure, so he could put audio. Adam Curry said, I want to put audio in there. And started podcasting off right in 2004.

Adam then started a podcasting company called MeVio. John was a partner there.
